Her first appearance was in IBC 13′s interactive game show and then offered by GMA 7 to join a teen program Click. The game show was later transferred to ABC 5 then Iya started more appearance in GMA via the afternoon soap “Walang Hanggan” along with Oyo Boy Sotto. It was around 2004 when she transferred to ABS-CBN as a resident VJ for its music channel MYX.
Her debut movie, “A Beautiful Life,” released in 2004, was directed by multi-award winning director, Gil Portes; where she starred opposite stellar actresses: Dina Bonnevie, Amy Austria and Gloria Romero.
